Julie Picot Horse Training
Blossom
Blossom is a 5 yr old Belgian mare. We use her in our Carriage Business...Springtime Carriages..and we also compete with her in Driving Shows throughout Southern California. When we first got Blossom she was very pregnant and not even halter broke. She proved to be a wonderfull mother to Windy and a very steady horse to ride and drive. We currently just competed in the Ventura County Fair Draft Horse Show. I am happy to say that we did great!!! Blossom won the Single Cart Pleasure Type class, and the Bareback Riding class. We also won a second place in Double Jeopardy, and 4th in Gamblers Choice. Blossom also did very well in the Junior Driving classes with Emma Wass showing her.

Windy
Windy was born Memorial Day Weekend 2005. She is a Spotted Draft with lot's of personality!! She may be only 2 yrs old but she already get's ponied out on trail rides, goes to horse shows and hangs out at the trailer...she has even been to the L.A. County Fair and got to enjoy nightly fireworks with her Mother..Blossom. Windy has a great mind and will start learning to be a driving horse this year and then hopefully as a 3 1/2 yr old we will start to get her broke to ride.

Iron Eagle
Iron Eagle is a 10 yr old Registered Tenessee Walking Horse. He is awesome out on the trail....we joke that he might be part goat...there aren't too many hills that he hasn't made it up.
Hawk
Hawk is a 4 yr old Kiger Mustang. Hawk has just gotten broke to ride and after only one day of being ridden at home he was out on the trail the next day. Hawk has a great mind and is like owning a piece of U.S. history.

Sam
Sam is a Percheron/Morgan cross. He is in his early 20's and has led a wonderful life. He originally came to California from a carriage company in Indiana. He worked in Dowtown San Diego as a carriage horse for about 6 yrs. Julie was lucky enough to work with Sam since he arrived from Indiana. Julie and Sam worked a lot of late nights in the Gaslamp Quarter giving tourists carriage rides. Julie knew that she had to have Sam and she purchased him in 2001. Sam then learned to be a riding horse and proved to be a wonderful trail horse and gentle enough to put new students on. Sam still gives the occasional carriage ride and riding lesson, but for the most part Sam is happily retired.

Tony
Tony is a real trooper. Tony is a registered Thoroughbred and raced until he was 11 yrs old....which is a pretty long career for a race horse. It was then that Tony began his career as a hunter. Julie has been with Tony now for about 15 yrs. He was a handful until he was about 18 yrs old and then he was finally trustworthy enough to be used as a lesson horse. Tony is now 28 yrs old and until 2 yrs ago he was packing lesson kids around the hunter ring. Tony is retired now and hangs out Sam.
